EmbryoGlue (embryo adhesive) is a special transfer solution enriched with hyaluronic acid, used in IVF treatment to increase the embryo's chance of implanting in the uterine lining (endometrium). Contrary to the word “adhesive” in its name, this fluid is not a chemical substance but a concentrated form of a protein called hyaluronan, which also naturally increases in the mother's uterus during pregnancy.
Immediately before the transfer, the embryos are kept in this solution for a certain period and the transfer is carried out using this solution. Thanks to the hyaluronan it contains, it acts as a bridge between the embryo and the uterus, helping the embryo attach more firmly to the uterine wall and supporting the onset of pregnancy. This is a safe laboratory step added to the laboratory phase of your embryo transfer process, and it does not require any additional procedure to be performed on you during the transfer. It is particularly recommended to support success rates in cases of previous unsuccessful IVF attempts, advanced maternal age, or unexplained infertility.
